Bree's Board of Directors

The Breanna Leigh Memorial Foundation is blessed and delighted to announce our newly appointed board of directors. When choosing who would be appointed to the board, it became apparent that whomsoever was given a seat on the board must be ready, willing, and able to lay the groundwork for those who would continue to carry on Bree’s legacy for generations to come. Breanna has a host of loved ones, supporters, and friends that we knew would have been honored to take up the mantle of a board member; therefore, it was only after careful consideration that our members were asked to join the board.

The question was asked, who would best exemplify and execute our sweet angel, Breanna’s, legacy? Who better to uphold her legacy than those that helped mold Breanna into the wonderful young woman she had become? Breanna’s mother, Kristy, and father, Heath, were indubitably the first choices for the board. Next, Breanna’s sister, Kirstin, was chosen for her love, determination, devotion, and ferocity which exemplifies daily to keep Breanna’s memory and legacy alive. The next board members were just as obvious of a choice to us as Breanna’s parents and sister. Breanna’s three grandfathers, David, Tab, and Timmy were obvious choices for us because these men were some of the most important people in Breanna’s life and because all of whom were always there to love and support her in his own unconditional and fierce way. Next, we chose two of Breanna’s aunts to help uphold the foundation’s core values, Brandy and Haley. We knew that these very special women would do anything to ensure Breanna’s memory and legacy were protected. Not to mention, Brandy has always been the yin to Kristy’s yang, and Haley was always more like a sister than an aunt. In addition to Breanna’s fervently loving and supporting family members on the board, we knew the board needed to include two more integral members of Breanna’s life, Breanna’s best friends. Her best guy friend, Cameron, has been her friend and protector since they met in 3-year-old pre-K. Last, but most certainly not least, Breanna’s best friend of all, Gracie, whom she met in 4-year-old pre-k and had an instant bond that can never be dimmed no matter the situation. Although the choice was not easy, for Breanna is loved and cherished by so many, we can definitively say that this board holds Breanna’s memory and legacy affectionately, ardently, and emphatically in the forefront of their hearts as a beacon guiding them forward.

The board members are preparing their words about Bree. Please be patient as this is a big ask.

The love shared between a mother and her daughter has a purity and unconditionality to it that has no parallel. From the moment I found out I was expecting Bree, I knew my purpose in life was forever transformed. Being Bree and Kirstin’s mom has been my most precious achievement; therefore, when the foundation started to take shape, I knew that I had to do as much as humanly possible to ensure my baby’s legacy was carried on. My girls inspire me daily. My memories are my solace. Heath and Kirstin are my comfort. God’s promise is my hope and my peace. Through this foundation and the support of those around me, I will strive to walk in the path that Bree has paved for us. I will forever be grateful that we got to spend twenty years holding onto you and cherishing you. I love you to the moon and back.

“Life’s too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.”- Dr. Seuss

Bree was the first to call Brandy, by her new promoted title Aunt. Much to Bree’s parents surprise she would have no filter just like her Aunt Brandy, with that said she was probably called Brandy more than she ever wanted to be. If Bree was ever riding in the wagons, you can bet she was kicking Brandy out to drive the minis. Much like Bree, Brandy would do anything for her family, so when asked to be on the board without hesitation she said absolutely. Brandy is excited to help carry on Bree’s legacy through the work of the foundation and trying to keep Kristy grounded.
